
Receiving awards of £2000 each were the Ballycarry Pre-School Playgroup and Larne Colts Football Club, whilst Ballystrudder Residents Group and the Hillheat Hut youthclubs each received £1000. The Community Fund was established in 2004 and has grown year on year since that time. This year more money was made available through the Fund and more projects have received support.
Barbara Hamilton, Community Relations Manager at Premier Power said, "As part of our ongoing commitment to working together with the local community we are delighted to make these funds available to local groups. It's pleasing to know that the lives of young local people who will be positively affected through the purchase of essential equipment to meet their particular needs".

The Ballystrudder Residents Group and the Hillheat Hut youthclubs will use the money to buy additional resources, to continue their good work in providing a safe and fun place for young people to socialise, particularly as the winter nights draw in. The Ballycarry Pre-School Playgroup will use the money to buy essential safety mats, room-dividers, radiator covers and play equipment.
Larne Colts Football Club, another winner, will use the money to fund their youth section. David Craig, Larne Chairman commented; "On behalf of all at the club and particularly the young lads who will benefit directly, a big thanks goes out to Premier Power for picking us as deserved winners of the money. It will be well spent in buying equipment and providing floodlights for winter training sessions."
