Community groups and other charitable organisations in the Larne Borough Council area are invited to apply for one of three awards of £2,000 each.
Henry Coolidge, Chief Executive Officer of Premier Power said:
"Premier Power's Community Fund Initiative, now in its third year, was set up to support projects in the local area. It provides an ideal opportunity for groups in Larne to acquire much needed funding for projects which will benefit the local community. Due to the overwhelming demand in previous years, we have increased the fund to £6,000. I would urge community and voluntary groups in the area to get their applications in before the deadline on 24th September.
"While all applications are welcome, I would highlight that Premier Power is particularly keen to hear from groups and projects which will help improve the quality of life for children and young people in their own area."
Barbara Hamilton, Premier Power's Communications Manager added:
"Premier Power's Community Fund has been a huge success since it started over three years ago. The Community Fund helps local community groups and organisations embark on projects that will really make a difference to peoples everyday lives in the local area.
"Premier Power is keen to put something back into the local community and the community fund allows us to channel funds directly to groups that have tangible proposals to contribute something positive to their area. Throughout the year Premier Power also operates a Small Grants Programme which has included supporting a number of local events and organisations suggested by our employees."
The closing date for applications is 24th September 2007. Successful applicants will be notified by phone. For an application form and further details contact Barbara Hamilton, Premier Power, Ballylumford, Islandmagee, Larne, Co Antrim, BT40 3RS Tel: 028 9338 1151.
