Premier Power, operators of Ballylumford Power Station have selected this year’s winners of the Community Fund Initiative. A record £6000 was made available for donation to worthy causes with the emphasis this year being placed on young people. Four groups from the local area will receive grants from the Fund.
Local charity Action Cancer was presented with a £1000 cheque as a result of the Behavioural Based Safety scheme at Premier Power Limited. The scheme, which sees employees at Premier Power's station in Ballylumford carry out behavioural safety observations, helps ensure key health and safety information is passed throughout the organisation and on to management.
Ballylumford-based Premier Power today launched its annual Community Fund to support community-based groups in the Larne area. Premier Power is making available a total of £6,000 to support projects which will improve the quality of life for local residents. While the company will consider projects based on all aspects of community life however, preference will be given to projects that support or work with children and young people in the community.
Premier Power has donated £1,600 on behalf of employees to help raise vital funds for sufferers of chest, heart and stroke associated illnesses.
